Alasyn Zimmerman is in the IB class of 2011 at East High. Since the age of three she has been studying various forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and contemporary. She first became involved in theatre at the age of 9 when she attended her first music theatre camp. In 2008, Alasyn was crowned “Miss Kansas Outstanding Teen”, promoting her platform “The Importance of extracurricular activities” where she developed her student outreach program “Alasyn’s Activity Academy.” When Alasyn is not dancing or performing, she can be seen at the Donut Whole or hanging out with her wonderful friends and her family, including her brother Chris. After she graduates, Alasyn hopes to attend an out of state university far away from Kansas (although she loves Kansas dearly) and major in either Broadcast Journalism, Dance, Chemistry or all three! However, the chemistry is an extremely far-fetch dream for Alasyn.
