Alasyn Zimmerman is in the IB class of 2011 at East High. Since the age of three she has been studying various forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and contemporary. She first became involved in theatre at the age of 9 when she attended her first music theatre camp and the next year was cast as Scannon the dog in “The Adventures of Lewis and Clark”. Since then Alasyn has been involved in various productions with Music theatre of Wichita, Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre, and Music Theatre for Young People. Currently, Alasyn is a Ballet Wichita company member and has been in roles ranging from Cheese mouse, Fritz, and Clara in “ The Nutcracker” and an Indian in “Peter Pan”. This past year Alasyn was crowned “Miss Kansas Outstanding Teen” promoting her platform “The Importance of extracurricular activities”. When Alasyn is not dancing or performing she spends time with her awesome family including her brother Chris.
